- The 6" x 6" Hot Rolled Steel Base Plate is a structural quality steel plate that is used in a wide range of general and industrial applications, such as base plates, road plates, trench coverings, and more. Also, It provides a fine, smooth surface,which creates an excellent base for painting.
- These steel plates weighs 2.25 lbs each. They are thick enough to hold up posts, and provide a large enough surface area to distribute weight evenly.
- Plates are available in measures 6"x 6", and is approximate 15/64" (close to 1/4") thickness. Bobco Metals plates are sold in packs of 4 and 8 pieces.
- These steel plates are an ideal base for painting for it have a smooth, stained-grey finish that makes your paint not to peel or chip off easily. A good top coat will make the best finish and protection on your metal. Steel base plates are essential for many kinds of support, particularly where posts need to be anchored to concrete surfaces. They are especially useful where structures are subject to heavy vibration. They also can be useful for mounting permanently installed equipment.
- These plates have 4 holes, one at each corner measuring 1/2" and it has 4-5/16" distance in diameter. It's easy to drill additional holes into the plate as needed and only take no more than a minute. You need a heavy-duty, hard drill bit to do the job.
